Shiripuno - 5 days

 


   

Night in a typical hut in a double room. Private bathroom.

PROGRAM


   DAY 01


Meeting with the staff at Coca.. We will travel by small pick up or by bus to Shiripuno Bridge (3 hrs aprox.). Lunch. Then we’ll take the motor canoe until the camp site; the navigation could be approximately for 4 hours. From the canoe, you’ll be able to take 
pictures and see the wide variety of flora and fauna. Dinner and lodging.

 

   DAY 02


Breakfast. We will take a long walk in the primary forest with an indian and naturalist guide (3-4hrs) here they will give you an explanation about the biodiversity of the rain forest and plants that local people use as a natural medicine, this walk requires a good physical condition. Lunch. In the afternoon piranha fishing. Dinner and lodging.

 

   DAY 03


Birdwatching (05:45 optional) Breakfast. We will take a walk to the salt lick where sometimes is possible to see the animals licking minerals and also is possible to see different species of plants and trees. Box lunch. In the afternoon we will back to the camp site. Night excursions to try to see caimans. Dinner and lodging.

 

   DAY 04


Breakfast, Then we will go to the oxbow lake where is possible to see different species of plants and animals. Lunch. In the afternoon we will take the motor canoe and go to one of the small rivers where is possible to see a lot of birds. Dinner and Lodging .

 

   DAY 05


After breakfast navigation to the Huaorani Comuniy (Neoneno), where you will have the oportunity to know about their traditions and customs. Lunch. And then we continue the navigation to the bridge where we will take the bus back to Coca (arrival at 17:30 aprox.). 

 

The program is flexible and some changes may happen, depending on weather conditions or tourist interests.
